Dawn Anderson grew up in Montebello, California, in a home filled with music, thanks to her parents—both passionate musicians who shared their love of music with their children. Like her siblings, she began piano lessons at the age of six and later played in the high school band, where her love of instruments truly blossomed.
After graduating, she got married and raised two children, eventually becoming a proud grandmother of five. Over the years, she worked in a variety of roles, most often in finance and real estate investing.
Now retired, she has returned to her musical roots by writing for the Star News Magazine, a publication for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and The Orchestra of Life Lessons, a heartwarming children’s book series inspired by the instruments she’s known and loved. She continues to share that joy through performances on the clarinet as a member of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Band.
Dawn now lives a quiet life in Hacienda Heights with her husband of 25 years, Alfred Tejeda.
